  Three pieces for cello and piano 

op.9


Three short pieces for cello and piano were written on December 30, 1923 in two hours; from January 6 to January 11, 1924 in Petrograd:

1. Fantasy in F Sharp Minor
2. Prelude in A Minor
3. Scherzo in C Major

The fourth part is written, but destroyed in a few days.

Dedicated to:

1. Zoya Shostakovich (younger sister) - Fantasy in F Sharp Minor.
2. Valerian Mikhailovich Bogdanova-Berezovsky (critic / composer) - Prelude in A minor.

3. Volodya Ivanovich Kurchavov (friend of the poet) - scherzo in C major.
